Afterimages is my tribute to a unique and special event – the Plein Air for the Park Fine Art Show & Sale, which I co-founded and helped run from 2012 to 2018 in Grand Teton National Park. It features full-color images of 20 paintings of the Park and greater Jackson Hole - canvases I began in the field during the event but was never able to complete on location. It relates the story behind each painting, including an image of each in its unfinished state, explains why they remained unfinished for so long, and reveals what inspired me to finally complete and exhibit them now. It also touches on the origin, history, and significance of Plein Air for the Park through my eyes. With a foreword by Jackson Hole arts writer Tammy Christel, an introductory essay written by me, photos of the paintings in both unfinished and finished states, and supplemental photos from the event, this book takes you with me on a journey through glorious summer days exploring and painting in beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
